DISTRIBUTION
Our philosophy is simple – go where the people are. We want our paper to be available out in the community where people are. Treasures newspaper is available at all of our advertisers businesses and at many hair salons, barber shops, coffee shops, fast food outlets, medical clinics and community centres throughout Alberta and parts of BC, as well as specific rack locations in Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton.
You can also find Treasures at various shows and related events around Alberta and BC as well as some tourist information centres, libraries and many other locations. Initial circulation per issue is 15,000 with an estimated readership of 45,000 (based on an industry standard of approximately 3 readers per paper).

DISPLAY AD PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS
Our production department is happy to design your ad from all the information you provide. If the work is complicated and takes more than 1/2 hour, a design charge of $25 will be added.
LOGOS :
Any logos or required artwork must be submitted as clean, black and white or color art.
PHOTOS :
Photos should be high-resolution, large format digital or original prints. GIFs, most Web graphics or 72 dpi files may work fine online but are not acceptable for printing purposes. Please ensure photos are at least 500kb.
PLEASE NOTE : If you aren't submitting your ad or artwork electronically, please mail a good, clear copy to us. Ads and artwork must be suitable for scanning. Faxed or copied logos, art or photos do not reproduce cleanly and will appear as inferior artwork. We can't use them.
When sending a file by email, send it as an attachment instead of copying it into the body of the email.
Photos and logos (JPEG, TIF, PDF) may be emailed to info@mytreasures.ca .
If you don't hear back from us via email, please call 403-457-4870 to verify that your ad material has been received and is compatible.
ELECTRONIC SUBMISSION :
All electronically submitted ads must be greyscale or CMYK at 300 dpi. Fonts must be embedded or converted to outlines. Black type must be true black. Ads can be sent as JPEG, TIF or PDF at a resolution of 300 dpi or higher.
PLEASE SEND US YOUR AD IN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING FORMATS:
• PDF - High-res file.
• Photoshop - save as a TIF, layers preferred.
• InDesign -Export as high resolution EPS or PDF, and provide screen & printer fonts. If fonts can't be provided, import into Photoshop, flatten file, and send as high-res JPEG.
• Illustrator - Illustrator 9.0, change text to paths.
• Corel Draw. Export ad as a TIF file.
Digital files can be emailed to info@mytreasures.ca. PDF files preferred.
We can accept Photoshop files. Electronic files created by other programs or platforms must be supplied as high-res PDF files. High resolution TIF or JPEG images acceptable.
EPS files must have all fonts converted to paths. We can also accept files on CD, DVD or Thumb Drive.

Large files can be sent through yousendit.com - a free file sending service.

Page width 10¼” (6 columns per page).
Ad widths: 1 col. = 1 9/16” | 2 cols. = 3 5/16” | 3 cols. = 5 1/16” | 4 cols. = 6 3/4” | 5 cols. = 8 1/2” | 6 cols. = 10¼”
AD SIZE EXAMPLE:
A Business Card ad is 2 columns wide, so it will need to be 3 5/16” wide by 2” deep. A half page vertical ad would be 3 columns wide, so it will measure 5 1/16” wide by 15 1/2” deep.

ADVERTISING POLICIES
Production Costs: Treasures contracts a graphic artist to ensure the highest quality possible. Our production department is happy to design your ad from all the information you provide. If the work is complicated and takes more than 1/2 hour, a design charge of $25 will be added.
Discounts: If your ad runs in 1 or 2 issues, no discounts will be available. If your ad runs in 3-5 issues per year you will receive a 5% discount. If your ad runs 6 times in one year then you'll receive a 10% discount. Based on a commitment from the advertiser regarding the length of the campaign, the discounts are applied to each ad when they run. Should the advertiser decide to end their campaign mid-way through the year's commitment, any discounts applied earlier will be charged back to the advertiser.
Example: A Business Card ad with no discount is $60 per issue. If the advertiser signs a one-year commitment (6 issues), the ad would only cost $54/month based on the 10% discount. If the ad only runs in two issues over that campaign year, then the $6/discount per issue will be charged back to the advertiser. A campaign year is considered to start from the first month the customer advertises.
There are no discounts applied to Front Page ads.
GST : Rate card prices do not include GST. Please add 5%.
Color: Spot color will be an additional $75. For full color ads add 30%. Color space is available but limited.
Payment: Payment can be made by cash, cheque, money order or major credit card. Invoices are mailed out and credit cards are processed as soon as the paper is published. Net 30 days. Interest on overdue accounts will be charged at 5% per month after the due date.
Website Ads: Advertisers in Treasures newspaper benefit three ways from online exposure with www.mytreasures.com. 1) A FREE listing in our Advertisers Directory (online list of the paper's advertisers). 2) A FREE one-year listing in the online directory (i.e. Craft Shop under Crafts listings). 3) A digital file of the newspaper will be available to view online.
Maximize your exposure online with these web ad opportunities:
• Web button ad: (1.5” wide by .75” high) - $20 for 3 months or $50/year
• Web banner ad: (3” wide by .75” high) - $35 for 3 months or $75/year
• Web ad on Home page: Add 30% to above prices.
• Web directory ad with link to your site: $25/year for each category listing.
All web ads will be linked to your site or email address.
Publisher's rights: Treasures Publishing makes an effort to screen advertisers but just because an ad appears in Treasures, no endorsement by Treasures Publishing is implied or responsibility accepted. The publisher reserves the right to refuse or cancel any advertising for any reason or no stated reason. The publisher and advertisers are not liable for typographical errors that may appear in prices or descriptions in advertisements.
Profanity and Objectionable Content: Treasures is a newspaper geared for young and old alike. We will not print explicit material or profanity. The editor reserves the right to edit or reject anything deemed to be profane. The final decision of the intent of an article or advertisement's content belongs to the editor. The editor reserves the right to reject any article or advertisement deemed objectionable.

DEADLINES & SCHEDULE
Deadlines: Unless cleared with the editor, all advertising (display & classified) and written notices, articles, photos, clip-art, digital files and press releases must be received in Treasures Publishing office no later than the 10th of the month prior to the date of publication.
